The sour, bitter thing

Miss Taylor had us held in suspense all through morning tea. Everybody was wondering what is this going to be? Finally it was time.

It felt like an orange that is slightly smaller. It had a rough texture on one side and smooth on the other side. It was like there were little strings in it as if you stuck your hand into a rubber band ball and felt all the rubber bands.

I took a bite and a whole aroma of multiple things pop up, sour, bitter, and a little tangy, sweet and delicious. It was as if I was in heaven it was that good. The juice was so strong that it’s like a muscle car showing off its horsepower.

I heard crunches as I bit down on the object, and a little flow of juice as if it was a river running down the strong substance.

Finally, we got to know what it was. It looks like a little yellow wedge that has strong juice flowing all over it. It was my favourite type of sour and bitter thing I had ever tasted. It was a small, bright yellow, lemon.

Metaphor poem

Over the past two weeks Room 7 have been learning how to write effective metaphors. A metaphor is a direct comparison to an object/thing.

We then made a metaphor poem about ourselves. We had to describe ourselves in different ways. As a lolly or treat, a sandwich, a piece of clothing, something from the community, a car and a tree.

Some of these metaphors were tricky.

What Happened

BEEP!BEEP!BEEP! I reluctantly wake up. It feels like a usual day. I look at my alarm clock its 5:30am. I go out into the lounge and look at the telescope. I think eh, why not? I look through the telescope and try to spot Mars, where it usually is but it's gone. I think eh? and start to head back to bed, I notice it's quite hot... too hot.

I wake up 2 hours later I notice I'm stuck to the blankets after that mess, I get up and go to the lounge and everyone's up.  Half an hour later we go to the beach. When we get setup we head down to the water, noticing there's no water  there so we just kept walking and walking until we faintly saw South America. We were too weirded out so we all went home and jumped in, the ice cold pool.
